Museum of Gem and Jewellery celebrated " World Museum Day " on 18th May and on this date , Museum entry was complimentary to all the visitors. We had good response and had visitors from all walks of life .

CSARITE® is a new arrival at Museum of Gem and Jewellery. A precious gemstone so exceptional, it has been identified as a previously unknown variety of diaspore. Only found in one place in the world, CSARITE® quality Turkish diaspore is meticulously excavated at a height of more than 3,000 feet in the remote foothills of the Anatolian mountains in Turkey.

Tsavorite or tsavolite is a variety of the  group species grossular a calcium-aluminium garnet with the formula Ca3Al2Si3O12Trace amounts of vanadium or chromium provides the green color. Discovered in northeastern Tanzania in 1967 . Tiffany & Co. Named this gem 'tsavorite in allusion to the locality , which included Tsavo river and Tsavo National Park
Tsavorite
Thewa is a special art of jewellery making which involves fusing of intricately worked-out sheet gold on molten glass. It evolved in Pratapgarh District , Rajasthan India .Its origin dates back to the Mughal age.Thewa is a traditional art of fusing 23K Gold with multicoloured glass . The whole Thewa piece is hand crafted over a period of one month by skilled artisans

Pearl is an organic gem formed in oysters - saltwater mollusk or freshwater mussels . A pearl is formed , when a foreign particle enters its mantle or body tissue, the body cells build up concentric layers (known as 'nacre') around the particle to protect the mantle.
